Download AMBA Annual Reports
Over two days and around fourteen sessions, one hundred community club leaders, volunteers and board members come together to explore AMBA's most pressing issues:
Volunteering | Governance | Strategy | Support | Research | Policy | Health and wellbeing
The AMBA Annual National Convention unites a national federation of multiple birth associations to network, learn and discuss the key issues facing our member-families and the volunteers serving them. Convention is a feature in the AMBA calendar, as it's the only opportunity for member-clubs to collaborate face-to-face, enabling discussion of key issues and interaction with the Board of Directors regarding the strategic direction of AMBA.
While the 2-day event provides an opportunity for AMBA to conduct its annual general meeting and other association business, convention has a significant focus on learning and development. The format usually features speakers and workshops focusing on a variety of topics tied to an annually changing theme. Attendees talk about the 'convention experience'. It's invaluable. It strengthens the ties between geographically dispersed clubs and encourages innovation. Club volunteers see that they are not alone, that others have similar challenges and issues and they solve for solutions together. A strong network of clubs brought together by national convention enables committees to focus on servicing their families and not waste valuable volunteer hours with re-inventing the operational wheel. The economy of scale offered at convention allows AMBA member-clubs to benefit from an annual opportunity to share information and resources with over 40 other clubs from all over the country.
With the extraordinary events of COVID-19 and the impacts to service and program delivery across the country, we must demonstrate creativity and initiative and pivot on the methods we use to ensure continuity of major events.
1AMBA Apprecation Awards Gala Dinner
Recognising the contribution of our volunteers at the AAA Gala Dinner is the perfect way to launch our convention every year and this year is no different, except it will be online.
The AAA recognise significant contribution within the multiple birth community and are a prestigious achievement. The awards acknowledge volunteers, members and community contributors for their contribution and innovation to multiple birth programs, services and support, while demonstrating excellence in adopting our organisational values.
Details on tickets will be released by the end of July
2 Our Annual General Meeting (AGM)
In accordance with AMBA's constitution, it is a requirement that we hold an AGM and we will go ahead with this in a virtual format. While not legally obligated to hold one, hosting an AGM is a way of ensuring we meet the obligations of the ACNC governance standard two - accountability to members.
AMBA's 2020 Annual General Meeting will be held by GoToWebinar on Saturday 17 October 2020 at 1:30pm AEDT. Details on how to join the webinar will be included in the Notice of Meeting that will be circulated in September. A call for motions and director nominations will be sent to member-clubs by the end of June.
