AMBA Appreciation Awards Winners 2016

The AMBA Appreciation Awards program was established to acknowledge AMBA members’ valued contributions; introduce dedicated, creative and innovative individuals and clubs to their peers on a national level; promote teamwork; recognise activities that increase the profile of AMBA within local and national communities and promote national affiliation. 

2016 Winners

Local Award − Awarded to an individual or club who has gone ‘beyond the call of duty’ at a local or state level. This club or individual will have provided exceptional service for the betterment of multiple birth families within their local area or their state through the production of a product or service.

Winner (club) − Nepean MBA for successful initiatives to engage and retain members

Winner (Individual) – Meghann Parker, Northern Beaches MBC, for the programs she set up within her club.

National Award − awarded to an individual or club that has provided exceptional service for the betterment of multiple birth families through the production of a product or service or amenity that is of benefit to the multiple birth community of Australia.

Winner − Neil Ward, Brisbane MBA (Southside), for setting up online support for dads and assisting clubs and AMBA to provide support.

Pat Stewart Award − awarded to an individual who has undertaken a project that improves the welfare of multiple birth children and their families throughout Australia.

Winner – Kimberlee King, Southern Sydney MBA, for being an advocate for mums of multiples impacted by the removal of the Abdominoplasty Medicare Item.

AMBA Service Award - Awarded to AMBA volunteers who have achieved a minimum of ten years of service in a club, state and/or national committee role. These extraordinary individuals are the stalwarts of AMBA. They fill vacancies, mentor newer committee members, provide wisdom, experience and a steady hand and keep our clubs and local services running for the benefit of multiple birth families.
