Local Award
The local award recognises and celebrates extraordinary individuals and member-clubs that have embodied one or more of the AMBA values and have demonstrated innovative achievement in program or service delivery, or delivered a benefit outside the defined role or expectation of their committee position or the community expectations of the club. This club or individual will have demonstrated the value in an exceptional manner, within their local area or state.
Selection criteria
- The nominee has demonstrated innovative achievement in program or service delivery, or delivered a benefit outside the defined role or expectation of their committee position or the community expectations of the club
- The impact of the nominee’s achievement does not exceed beyond local member-club level [for an individual] OR the impact of the club’s achievement does not exceed beyond the state they serve
- The innovative process, program or service has the ability to be replicated in other Australian member-clubs
- The nominee has demonstrated one or more of AMBA’s values through their performance, attitude, behaviour and actions, with positive and sustained impact
- The nominee’s behaviour aligns to AMBA’s purpose, mission and goals
Eligibility criteria
- Individual nominee must be a financial member of an affiliated member-club
OR
- The nominated member-club must be a financial and affiliated member-club of AMBA
National Award
National Award
The national award recognises and celebrates extraordinary individuals and member-clubs that have embodied one or more of the AMBA values and have demonstrated innovative achievement in program or service delivery, or delivered a benefit outside the defined role or expectation of their AMBA or club committee position, with a national impact. The club or individual will have demonstrated the value in an exceptional manner, benefiting the broader multiple birth community of Australia.
Selection criteria
- The nominee has demonstrated innovative achievement in program or service delivery, or delivered a benefit outside the defined role or expectation of their AMBA or committee position or the community expectations of the club
- The impact of the nominee’s achievement is at least Australia wide [for both individual and club nominations]
- The program, service, or benefit must have been delivered from within and managed by AMBA, but could have been initially identified external to AMBA
- Extra weight will be given to an innovative process, program or service that is for the benefit of the multiple birth community of Australia, not just AMBA member-families
- Exceptional means a standard beyond the minimum expectations of program or service delivery within AMBA member-clubs
- The nominee has demonstrated one or more of AMBA’s values through their performance, attitude, behaviour and actions, with positive and sustained impact
- The nominee’s behaviour aligns to AMBA’s purpose, mission and goals
Eligibility criteria
- Individual nominee must be a financial member of an affiliated member-club
OR
- The nominated member-club must be a financial and affiliated member-club of AMBA
International Award
International Award
The international award recognises and celebrates extraordinary individuals that have demonstrated innovative achievement in program or service delivery, or delivered a benefit that results in better outcomes for multiple birth families through collaboration and promotion in an international context. The outcome needs to benefit the multiple birth community both in Australia and overseas.
Selection criteria
- The nominee has successfully collaborated with overseas organisation/s to achieve a positive outcome for multiple birth families
- The nominee's achievement must be outside the expected deliverables of their usual role and cannot be solely related to the nominee holding a particular role, if any, within an organisation
- The impact of the nominee’s achievement is at an international level, with results impacting multiple birth families in a minimum of two (2) countries, with Australia being one of them
- The nominee has demonstrated one or more of AMBA’s values through their performance, attitude, behaviour and actions, with positive and sustained impact
- The nominee’s behaviour aligns to AMBA’s purpose, mission and goals
Eligibility criteria
- Nominee does not need to be an Australian resident or citizen
- Nominee does not need to be a member of an AMBA affiliated member-club or a parent or guardian of multiples
Pat Stewart Memorial Award
Pat Stewart Memorial Award
The Pat Stewart memorial award was created in honour of past Chairperson, Pat Stewart OAM (dec.), a great leader who maintained an unwavering commitment to AMBA for over 30 years and whose vision led to the inception of the Australian Multiple Birth Association. Pat’s impact was groundbreaking, within Australia and overseas. The Pat Stewart memorial award is a prestigious AMBA award that recognises an individual or team who has undertaken a significant project that improves the welfare of multiple birth children and their families throughout Australia.
Selection criteria
- The project must have been based on a needs assessment for multiple birth families. It could have included research, lobbying or activity aligned with AMBA’s mission and can be either a short or long-term project
- If not already the outcome, the results of the project should be able to be converted to a new AMBA resource, publication, program or service, or further study to be undertaken to be delivered through AMBA
- The project must be complete, with positive results achieved as a direct outcome
- The nominee/s have demonstrated one or more of AMBA’s values through their performance, attitude, behaviour and actions, with positive and sustained impact
- The nominees’ behaviour aligns to AMBA’s purpose, mission and goals

- Nominee does not need to be a member of an AMBA affiliated member-club or a parent or guardian of multiples
AMBA Service Award
AMBA Service Award
Awarded to AMBA volunteers who have achieved a minimum of ten years of service in a club, state and/or national project team/board role. These extraordinary individuals are the stalwarts of AMBA. They fill vacancies, mentor newer committee members, provide wisdom, experience and a steady hand and keep our clubs and local services running for the benefit of multiple birth families.
Selection criteria
- The service award is an automatic achievement, providing the required information is provided to verify the eligibility criteria:
- Each year of service should be listed in the nomination, along with the position(s) held in that year
- Letters of recommendation should be provided by the current club or committee president
Eligibility criteria
- Nominee must be a current financial or life member of an AMBA affiliated member-club
- Nominee must have served a minimum of 10 full years in various roles as part of a local club, state committee, national project team or the AMBA board of directors
- The years of service need not be consecutive
