Local Award
Local Award – for service in the local area or state
Awarded to an individual or club who has gone ‘beyond the call of duty’ at a local or state level. This club or individual will have provided exceptional service for the betterment of multiple birth families within their local area or their state through the production of a product or service.
Criteria:
- Individual must be a financial member of AMBA
- Club must be a financial affiliated association of AMBA
- Exceptional means: outside the defined role or expectation of the existing committee positions
- When assessing a product or service, this product or service should be able to be duplicated in other clubs and states.
National Award
National Award – for service to the broad Australian multiple birth community
Awarded to an individual or club that has provided exceptional service for the betterment of multiple birth families through the production of a product or service or amenity that is of benefit to the multiple birth community of Australia.
Criteria:
- Individual must be a financial member of AMBA
- Club must be a financial affiliated association of AMBA
- Exceptional means: outside the defined role or expectation of the existing committee positions
- When assessing a product or service, this product or service should be for the benefit of multiple birth families throughout Australia.
International Award
International Award – for service to multiple birth families internationally
Awarded to an individual who has supported multiple birth families through research and/or promotion in an international context. The research or promotion needs to be of benefit to the multiple birth community in Australia and overseas.
Criteria:
- Individual does not need to be an Australian resident or citizen
- Individual does not need to be a member of AMBA or be a parent or guardian of multiples
- Individual must have international recognition in their field of expertise.
Media Award
Media Award
Awarded to a media outlet or journalist who has raised the profile of AMBA (the organisation) or issues pertaining to multiple birth families. The publicity must be state-based or nation-wide, not just in the local area.
Criteria:
- Individual does not need to be an Australian resident or citizen
- Individual does not need to be a member of AMBA or be a parent or guardian of multiples
- The nominee must demonstrate evidence of how the media or journalist positively raised the profile of AMBA or multiples in general. (eg. increased website hits, phone enquiries, article creating cross-media interest).
Pat Stewart Memorial Award
Pat Stewart Memorial Award
Awarded to an individual (or individuals) who have undertaken a project that improves the welfare of multiple birth children and their families throughout Australia.
Criteria:
- Individual does not need to be a member of AMBA or be a parent or guardian of multiples
- The project must be based on a needs assessment for multiple birth families. It can include investigation, research, lobbying. It could be a long-term project
- The nomination must show how the project has addressed needs of multiple birth families and the benefits gained.
AMBA Service Award
AMBA Service Award
Awarded to AMBA volunteers who have achieved a minimum of ten years of service in a club, state and/or national committee role. These extraordinary individuals are the stalwarts of AMBA. They fill vacancies, mentor newer committee members, provide wisdom, experience and a steady hand and keep our clubs and local services running for the benefit of multiple birth families.
Criteria:
- Individual must be a financial member of AMBA
- Individual must be a current financial or life member of an AMBA affiliated club
- Individual must have served a minimum of 10 full years in various roles as part of a local club, state committee or the AMBA board
- Each year of service should be listed in the nomination, along with the position(s) held in that year
- The years of service need not be consecutive to meet the 10-year qualifier
- The nomination should be signed by the current club or committee president.
